Residential Care Facility for the Elderly commonly called as Board and Care Homes are small homes licensed and monitored by the Department of Social Services. These homes are able to assist elderly clients with some or most of their activities of daily living. Some homes have a capacity of 6 or more but provide a higher level of care due to ratio of caregivers to their residents. The residents in these facilities require varying levels of personal care and protective supervision. Some homes can care for clients with dementia or can also be at the end of life (hospice). Because of the wide range of services offered by RCFEs, it is best to have one of our care coordinators to guide you in selecting a care home.
